Ashley Estoup, PH.D.

 

Ashley Estoup is a licensed psychologist and certified forensic evaluator in Oregon. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Washington State University, as well as her master’s degree in forensic psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also holds a master’s and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Seattle Pacific University. Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Estoup received training in forensic assessment with individuals in a state psychiatric hospital and federal prison. She also received additional experience completing assessments with adolescents with substance use issues and adults and youth applying for social security benefits. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Oregon State Hospital where she conducted court-ordered competency and guilty except for insanity evaluations, violence risk assessments, and general psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification. She also received clinical training providing therapy to patients under criminal and civil commitments. After earning her doctorate, she completed a forensic psychology postdoctoral fellowship at Northwest Forensic Institute. During that time, she received further specialized training in a variety of criminal forensic evaluations, including competency to proceed, criminal responsibility, violence risk assessment, mental state/diminished capacity, sentencing mitigation, and psychosexual evaluations. After completing her postdoctoral fellowship, she was hired as a full-time forensic psychologist at Northwest Forensic Institute, where she continues to conduct forensic evaluations with adults and adolescents in Oregon, Washington, and through the federal system. Her practice primarily consists of competency to stand trial, competency for extradition, criminal responsibility, mental state/diminished capacity, sentencing mitigation, violence risk assessment, firesetting risk assessments, and psychosexual evaluations.
