Ahmar Zaman, PH.D.

 

Ahmar Zaman is a licensed psychologist in Oregon and Michigan and a certified forensic evaluator in Oregon. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy. He completed his internship/residency at Harris County Juvenile Probation Department in Houston, Texas. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Forensic and Addiction Psychology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Zaman brings expertise in legal/forensic assessment, clinical diagnosis, and conducting evidence-based evaluations with diverse populations.

Dr. Zaman also serves as faculty and an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Oregon, where he teaches courses in psychopathology, forensic psychology, and psychological assessment. Previously, he served as Interim Director of Clinical Training and the Director of the Forensic Emphasis for the Pacific University Psy.D. Clinical Psychology program.

Dr. Zaman is dedicated to advocacy in the areas of criminal justice, mental health, education, and social justice. Dr. Zaman has been published in the Washington Post and Portland Tribune. He has presented research and provided presentations to local community organizations and through national organizations, such as: American Psychological Association, American Psychology-Law Society, Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
